Scott grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School in 1989. After high school he began working in the service industry, but found his calling in the Information Technology (IT) field. After working in businesses of various sizes he ran his own IT consulting firm for nearly 10 years. Scott has now been working in IT for nearly 30 years and it has given him a great ability to gather information and look at the big picture impacts of decisions.
In 2018 Scott was elected as the Ward 1 representative on the Marshall City Council. During his time on Council he has also served as the chair of the Northeast Neighborhood Improvement Authority, a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and as the Council liaison for the Marshall Planning Commission. He has also served on the Budget Review and City Manager Review sub-committees.
